Wen Entertained Family And Friends In His Hometown During His Visit.

There was much entertaining to be done when Wen went back home after his long absence, and on a visit to the mountain village where he was born and spent his early years, some members of his family and friends joined him at lunch in one of the local restaurants. The restaurant was very popular, and as Wen's visit was during the celebrations of the Chinese New Year, there was some waiting to be done before there was a free table. The front of the restaurant was decorated with colourful bunting and red lanterns, and the restaurant provided pavement chairs for waiting customers to use until a free table was available.

Waiting outside the restaurant presented no problems, because there was much to discuss, particularly about Wen going back home after being away for a number of years. Like most smaller towns and villages, the relationship between the people living there is friendly and helpful. As Wen's party were seated outside the restaurant, many of the local people stopped to say hello, and so the news of Wen's visit spread further amongst the community.

Sharing a meal with family and friends is an important part of family life in China. With Wen going back home, there was plenty to celebrate with family members he had not seen for many years, and with friends who had remained in the community, or who had returned to live there after their experiences in other countries. It has been said that much of the new developments in the province of Fujian, has been the result of funds sent back home from Fujian people living in other countries.
