Group Photo Of Chinese Man, Two Youngsters, Image Of Buddha, and Dragon's Head.

Before getting to the steps away from the Dengfeng Pagoda, leading back onto the road, we passed through a stone archway on which was inscribed an image of a Buddha, and above that a Lions Head. A friend decided he would like a photo taken whilst standing by these two images. The photo session attracted the attention of two youngsters nearby, who asked if they could be included in the photo. The photo thus became a group photo with a difference, of three humans and two images.

My friend had no connection with these three youngsters, who happened to be standing by the archway, with a Chinese woman, but the photo session was something they could not ignore. They joined my friend for the photos, and that seemed to make them very happy, despite the fact that it would be unlikely that they would ever see the ''group photos'' !

During a photo session at the Shaolin Temple, on the same day that the orphans from the home in Dengfeng provided by and maintained by Shaolin Funding, a group of the boys would always want to be included in any photo. When a group of the girls were ready to have their photo taken, four of the boys promptly took up a position crouching on the slabs in front of them, so that they would be included! Ah well ! Boys will be boys !
