Dengfeng City: From The Pagoda In Dengfeng City Is A View Of The Roads And Buildings Below.

From the hill-top Pagoda in Dengfeng City, can be seen a long straight road stretching from the City Square at the bottom of the Pagoda Hill, away into the misty far distance. It is a wonderful sight, but to get to the Pagoda, there are hundreds of steps to climb. Fortunately there are a number of landings on this long flight of steps to the hilltop Pagoda, to take a rest or to view the scenery below. The square below is a popular meeting place for the people of Dengfeng and there is a play area for children. A part of the square has inlaid fountain jets and illumination lights, and when these are turned on during the evenings, they provide a spectacular display. From the square can be seen the flight of steps leading up to the Pagoda on the hill top. It is a daunting sight but the climb has to be accomplished to visit the Pagoda and to view the surrounding scenery.

It is difficult to imagine what the city of Dengfeng really looks like when viewed at street level, but from the hilltop Pagoda there are spectacular views of the city and of the surrounding scenery. Dengfeng is usually the base from which visits to the nearby Shaolin Temple are made.
