Africa People Photo captures happy times spent in Niger with Midal a friendship never to be forgotten.![]() sh-n-0623
This is my Niger 'son' Midal then 11 years old, who never went to school but was clever and naughty. He lived in the same street as us, and a close friendship quickly developed. In the two years I was in Niger, he was the closest person to me. When I went to the streets to buy something, he would go with me and wanted to carry the goods for me. When I went out for a walk in the evening, he would come with me. One day I asked him what he wanted to do when he grew up, and he said he wanted to be a driver.
About three months before our group of doctors left Niger, he came to tell me that he would be going with his mother to another city, Mahadi. I thought he was going there for a few days, but he never came back. Later I heard that his father had been ill and had died, so the family had to live with his grandfather in Mahadi. Midal had become so close to me, a precious friendship, yet he disappeared so quickly in my life, before I could even say goodbye. I will always remember him. Good Luck Midal my son, I wish that one day we can be together again, so take care of yourself for me.
''''' Friendship Friendship is a term used to denote co-operative and supportive behavior between two or more humans. This article focuses on the notion specific to interpersonal relationships. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, esteem, and affection along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. Friends will welcome each other's company and exhibit loyalty towards each other, often to the point of altruism. Their tastes will usually be similar and may converge, and they will share enjoyable activities. They will also engage in mutually helping behavior, such as exchange of advice and the sharing of hardship. A friend is someone who may often demonstrate reciprocating and reflective behaviors. Yet for many, friendship is nothing more than the trust that someone or something will not harm them. Value that is found in friendships is often the result of a friend demonstrating on a consistent basis: Src: Wikipedia.org. ''''' |
