To see something different Zu Jian decided to take us in his car to the China border with Vietnam where a waterfall over rocks separates the two countries. On the way to the waterfall we passed through an area of the country that was famous for growing bananas. They seemed to be growing everywhere and sold in many markets. Ri Sheng bought a whole string of the small Chinese type, which we ate later, back in the hotel.

When we got to the border, we had to walk up a roadway to have a good view of Vietnam, on the opposite side of a river that was fed by a waterfall. It was a very popular attraction for visitors, and lower down on the river itself, could be seen boats carrying passengers, from the river banks, very close to the waterfall itself.
At the time of our visit the waterfall cascading over the rocks, did not have the water source of winter, when we were told, the torrent of water would be quite fierce.

In one part of the China border were stalls selling goods made in China and goods made in Vietnam. The photo shows items from Vietnam.
There were two sections of this 'market'. the first section having all China stalls, then the second section higher up, was devoted to stalls of the Vietnamese people.
It was noticeable that despite the number of stalls and the number of potention buyers visiting these border waterfall markets, there was no vocal encouragement from the stallholders to buy their goods. They were all very helpful and polite.
