New Construction Work On Shaolin Temple Buildings.

The new construction work at the Shaolin Temple included a new hall near the Bell Tower and a new hall near the Drum Tower. The new construction work was on a tight schedule as there was a completion date of 30th September. The new construction work was being carried out by workers who were very experienced in the work they were doing. These pictures of the new construction work were taken at the Shaolin Temple, Henan Province in June 2004. The pictures show new construction work being carried out in connection with an application for the Shaolin Temple to be accepted as a World Heritage Site. Many improvements are being made during the new construction work, to improve facilities for monks and visitors. Travelling to the Shaolin Temple site entrance by minibus takes about 15 minutes, but there are plenty of taxies available in Dengfeng. At the park entrance you either walk to the Shaolin Temple or take an electric shuttle-bus.
